Many are now talking about the merits that frame buildings have. Indeed, you can find a lot of information about the cheapness of the construction, the lack of need for heavy foundation masonry and excellent thermal insulation. However, against the background of these unconditional advantages, one should not forget about the shortcomings:
Fragility. Unfortunately, this drawback is completely real and it is extremely small likely that the structure will stand for several centuries. However, a century is a completely normal service life of the structure, that is, it will delight you and your children, but the grandchildren will have to save money for a new home.
More precisely, the greatest load in the frame house is on the insulation in the external walls. About once every 3 decades, it must be changed, removing the casing of the frame and a vapor barrier film.
The danger of fire. Indeed, a tree is a material that is just fine. However, this statement is relevant for any other design. Even the construction of a house made of stone involves the use of a mass of materials that are prone to fire. Differences are exclusively in the remains of the structure after the fire.
A brick or foam block becomes a charred stone skeleton that will need to be dismantled. The burned -out frame house will leave a clean construction site, on which you can start erecting a new home almost immediately. If we take into account the use of non -combustible insulation, as well as the processing of a wooden frame with special compounds, you can understand that the frame structure can very well resist an open flame.
Listing the shortcomings of frame houses, we must not forget about the rotting of wooden structures. However, this nuisance is more associated with negligent builders than with the features of the wood itself. If structures are installed in the frame that are completely deprived of protection, then it is stupid to believe that they are able to serve for a long time without losing the initial properties. Any wood needs to be treated with antiseptics and other compositions.
Noise insulation. Of course, if you compare any house of wood with a house, the walls and floors of which are made on the basis of blocks, concrete or brick, the sound insulation of the wooden structure will be lower. It is true, however, the assertion that modern soundproofers, as well as special technologies implemented during the construction of the frame, can completely eliminate the problem. Moreover, a deficiency is solved, which is associated with “air” and “shock” noise.
Environmental friendliness. It would seem that it can be more environmentally friendly than a wooden house? However, the frame structure is difficult to call completely wooden. Inside the walls there is a layer of insulation, outside you can find a sheathing of a focusing-piece plate consisting of glue and streams. Often the interior decoration is based on the use of drywall, which also does not grow in the forest.
The need to hire a qualified construction brigade. Perhaps this problem can be called the most urgent. The modern frame design is very technological, and therefore it is unlikely that a team that does not have qualifications can be able to cope with the construction. Errors made at the stage of erecting a power frame can be very expensive in the future. Thus, the customer should be extremely responsible for the search for a decent construction company.
