One of the current problems in the winter season is the accumulation of snow masses on the roofs of houses and sliding ice layers from the roof of buildings. This is a danger to the life and health of pedestrians, leads to a violation of the tightness of the roof, damage to the mounts of the gutters or the drainage system with a clock. In addition, damage to wood plantings or transport located next to the house may be caused.
To prevent snow masses from the houses during the thaw period, special snow retainers are used on the roof, which are an integral element of the safety of the roofing. This is especially true for modern cottages, the roof of which is made of expensive natural tiles or metal tiles.
Sometimes it is enough to install snow -holding structures only in problem areas, and not to surround them the entire perimeter of the roof. It is advisable to think about the installation of snow retainers in advance, before laying the roofing begins, t. To. In places of installation of snow retainers, additional hardening of the support board may be needed.
The main point when designing a snow retention system is the correct choice and calculation of the number of supports. At the same time, the type of roof, snow load, type and step of the crate, the size of the racks of the crate, as well as the material and the geometry of the support itself are taken into account. For very steep and long roofs, it is technically reasonable to mount several rows of snow retention, distributing them along the perimeter of the roof from the cornice to the ridge. This allows you to optimally distribute the snow load over the entire area of the roof.
There are various types of snow retainers: tubular, lattice, corner, buugers.
Tubular snow holders are most popular today, they are widely used for metal tiles, corrugated board, bitumen tiles, and folding roof.
Tubular metal snow holders dissect the snow mass during its advancement on the slope of the roof and thereby prevent an avalanche -like snow gathering. In addition, they protect roofing material from falling during the repair of the roof (for example, with strong gusts of wind).
They are the most aesthetic, performed in the form of one or two rows of pipes on supporting brackets near the edge of the roof. Made of stainless or galvanized steel. It can be just hot -valked or hot after galvanizing (this increases corrosion resistance).
This design has high reliability, strength and is simply mounted. The support brackets through the roofing material are fixed using self -tapping screws to a continuous crate at a distance of about half a meter from the edge of the cornice. Then pipes are laid on the brackets. As a rule, the installation of tubular snow retainers is carried out on the roofs of 1-5-floor buildings.
Modern technologies allow you to produce snow holders of any color. They are easy to choose to match the roof and thereby decorate the roof of the building without violating architectural harmony (important aesthetic aspect).
