Baths from aerated concrete

  • May 4, 2018

It is believed that the best baths are built only from wood. Therefore, the use of other materials, especially cellular blocks, causes a lot of disputes. Of course, the tree is useful and environmentally friendly, but with small tools for construction, you can afford to build a bath of aerated concrete.

Pros and cons.

A bathhouse built of aerated concrete will cost two times cheaper than wooden, it is durable and is not afraid of fire. This building will be built in a fairly short time, but at the same time its service life will depend on many factors.

During construction, it should be borne in mind that the baths from aerated concrete, with poor internal and external waterproofing, will absorb moisture, since aerated concrete is a cellular material. To solve this problem, hydrophobic impregnations and primer are used.

The outer walls of the bath need to be plastered, painted or covered with finishing siding, which will not miss moisture into aerated concrete. The structure should not be insulated strongly, since the blocks retain heat well. Blocks have a cellular structure and consist of cement, sand and water. All these materials are harmless to human health, retain heat well and will last a very long time. The economy of this material is well known, but when buying, you should pay attention to the density and appearance of the blocks. High -quality blocks have a high density, even color, the same size and even structure.

Construction.

For the construction of a bath, choose aerated concrete for walls, you can also use insulation blocks. Before finishing the bath siding, experts advise to warm the walls with liquid glass.

The installation of walls from gas blocks will not require much effort, they fit into glue so that there are no cold bridges in the seams. They are also frost -resistant and can resist humidity. Well sealed walls will not accept all the moisture of the steam room. If desired, the internal walls can be finished with lining, not forgetting to leave the gaps between the walls and a 10 mm finishing material, which will provide additional ventilation. The lining for the bath is aesthetic, but will not serve as waterproofing, so do not forget about the additional protection of aerated concrete from moisture.

Also, aerated concrete has low thermal conductivity, for a long time, maintaining heat in the room. Due to its cellular structure, aerated concrete is not dangerous for health. The air in the bath will be fresh and clean. Additional insulation of the room is not required, because as already mentioned, the material preserves heat well.

The material is easily cut to drill the walls can use the same tools as for work on wooden surfaces. You will also need tools for processing foam blocks, because many manufacturers have a material that does not fit in size. This problem is eliminated using a hacksaw.

Aerated concrete for a bath, due to its lightness and size, is easier than a brick or a tree. During construction, this material is often used for external walls and partitions, as they have good sound insulation.

The foundation of the bath should not be reinforced or very powerful, most often for these purposes, a strip foundation on a sand pillow is used.

The cost of the bath depends on the price of materials and the contractor and amounts to about 300,000 rubles.
