Parquet floors. Parquet flooring.
Before starting to lay parquet planks, they need to be sorted by color and size and measure their humidity using appropriate measuring devices. The humidity level should not be higher than 6-8%.
The base for the parquet is primed by a special bitumen solution at least a day before laying parquet strips on it. The primer solution is made from a mixture of bitumen with a solvent. Apply it with a wide brush. After the soil completely dries and hardens, you can start laying parquet planks, which are laid with hot and cold mastics. In this case, use cold mastics more rational: they are stored for a long time, do not cool, apply them with a thin layer of 1-1.5 mm is not difficult. A special glue is also used in the flooring of the parquet, however, in this case, you need to accurately adhere to the attached instructions for its use.
Traditionally, the parquet is laid in three ways: “Christmas tree”, “Vietnamese” and “deck” pattern. The most common way is the “Christmas tree”. The flooring of the Parquet “Christmas trees” begins with the lighthouse “Christmas tree”. This is done in this way: the cord stretches in the center of the room and the lighthouse “Christmas tree” is laid regarding its direction from the wall or along the axial line. The first row of parquet, to adjust the pattern, is made without the use of mastic or glue, dry. Those parquet strips that are located against the wall, before laying, you need to cut at an angle of 45 °. The gap between them and the wall should be 1.5 – 2 centimeters.
Glaces when laying the lighthouse “Christmas trees” should fit tightly to each other and connect to all their side sides. To enhance the fastening of the planks with the base, during their flooring they move along the already laid strips, thus providing additional pressure on the bonds of body weight. The strips should not move off.
If the base for parquet consists of wood-fiber plates, often another method of flooring is used, which consists in strengthening it with nails with a length of 40 mm and a thickness of 1.6-1.8 mm. Similarly to the previous method of flooring, and in this case, first in the middle of the room, perpendicular to the window, the cord stretches. Under it is attached at an angle of 45 ° several piles. The most basic with this method of laying is to make two rows of scapows on both sides of the lighthouse cord and very smoothly beat the first two parquet strips. In the rest of the rows, the bar is strengthened by nails, the hats of which, in order to avoid displacements, are recessed by the decorator. The last row is covered from a wrapper of the first row planes. In order to create a monolithic, firmly strengthened on the basis of the surface of the parquet floor, the trimming of the strips is fixed in the “groove in the crest” method.
At the end of the flooring, the parquet is given time for complete consolidation. Usually this time is four to five days. After that, they begin to cycle the parquet, which is carried out in order to remove small irregularities and the remains of the pile from the surface of the parquet formed when it dries out. The gaps between the walls and parquet strips are closed with skirting boards.
